About Storytowns

Storytowns is a team of travel loving adventurers, who love to get off the beaten track, meet the locals and throw themselves into new experiences, with a microphone in hand our on the ground team of explorers and expert researchers go deep into local communities to experience the town’s character and to reveal the authenticity and uniqueness of what each place has to offer. We are a platform to showcase these stories for the travelling tourists in an interactive geo-located podcast tour. A whole new travel experience that is designed to entertain and unlock places you never thought existed throughout the world.

The Role

We’re all about travel so pack your bags as you’ll be on the road testing and helping develop our products. You will develop an intrinsic understanding of our users’ attitudes, behaviours, goals and pain-points, to inform and support the product team’s global vision of creating a better travel experience. Internally, you will become a user advocate and approach problem solving through the lens of our customers and businesses. You will be responsible for designing user-friendly and intuitive experiences across all our platforms including the podcasts, app, website and marketing material.  

Key Duties and Responsibilities

  • Interpret data and qualitative feedback
  • Create user stories, personas and storyboards
  • Determine information architecture and create sitemaps
  • Create prototypes and wireframes
  • Conduct usability testing
  • Take a user-centred approach to design as you tackle complex problems.
  • Translate research findings into actionable product recommendations that improve the user experience.
  • Validate solutions early and often through usability testing sessions, and monitoring product releases.
  • Understand and monitor the competitive landscape, key industry trends and developments.
  • Interpret data and qualitative feedback
  • Work closely with the product team to identify research questions
  • Plan and conduct interviews, user surveys, card sorting and usability tests
  • Design and execute studies into user behaviour and attitudes
  • Help define and refine user personas 
  • Present and communicate insights in order to help shape long-term product strategy

 

Skills and Experience 

Essential:

  • 3+ years experience in a UX Design role.
  • Experience planning and conducting UX research projects (workshops, interviews, surveys and usability testing sessions) including defining research objectives, developing scripts and test plans, participant recruitment and conducting sessions.
  • Experience in producing journey maps, user flows, sketches and annotated wireframes.
  • Experience producing prototypes and working with usability testing tools.
  • You’re a problem solver, with the ability to identify, diagnose and solve user problems
  • Excellent communication skills and empathy for the user

Desired

  • Experience working in an Agile environment and practising lean UX methodologies
  • Proficiency in using UX tools (i.e Miro, XD).
  • Understanding of design patterns associated with responsive web and app (iOS & Android).
  • Experience working in cross­-functional teams.
  • Ability to collaborate with different teams
  • Adept at handling and analyzing both quantitative and qualitative data
  • Knowledge of industry tools: Presentation programs (Keynote, Powerpoint); UX design programs (Adobe XD); analytics tracking tools (Google Analytics, etc.)
